Rogue Traders are operating in the Merley area of Poole targeting elderly residents purporting to work for Dyno Rod drainage clearance. A victim of rogue trading was targeted in the last week by 2 males using a green Mazda part reg number W375. Enquiries are ongoing regarding this incident, whereby the homeowner was cold called and coerced into having unnecessary drainage works carried out and requiring an up front fee and an exorbitant charge to hire a drain clearing machine.
Dyno Rod have been notified and confirmed that they never charge an upfront fee, charge a standard £195 plus vat and never cold call anyone. They also use distinct bright orange livered vans with Dyno Rod on sides.
Do not consider using any cold callers who may attend your address unannounced unless you verify their company details and carry out a full search of their credentials and if they are a member of a legitimate company, who meet Trading Standard requirements and their work has been verified. Consider using Checkatrade or TrustATrader to find the tradesperson you require or a personal recommendation from someone you trust. |
